As the eagle-eyed among you may have noticed, this blog hasĀ been slightly quieter and slightly more automated over the month of November, to allow me to concentrate on writing a novel for NaNoWriMo. Since Sebastian’s arrival, and the acquisition of a lovely-but-work house, my writing time is curtailed and I knew it would be a challenge to write the necessary 1667 words every day and maintain this blog without something else suffering more than I was willing to let it.
The good news is, I hit 50,000 words on Friday and validated my novel to “win” on Saturday morning. Winners of NaNoWriMo get nothing more valuable than a purple icon on the website and a sense of achievement. Well, that and the first draft of a novel to do as they wish with. Those three things are enough for me.
The bad news is, as so often happens, the 50,000 word mark hasn’t coincided with the end of my story, so December is going to be a balancing act (again) of writing the rest of the novel, re-reading TPF which I’ve been editing for most of the year and want to start submitting early in 2014, and still trying to keep house and home together.
But I managed to keep up with FF last month and I want to start working on InMon prompts again this week, so it will just all have to fit in together somehow.
