FF – Summer Rerun – An Eulogy

Once again, a chance to rerun an old story with the Friday Fictioneers this week. This one was actually one of my favourites, although not one I suggest to Rochelle for a do-over. My story is (was) here. Your feedback is always welcome … although not as much as your babysitting assistance would be 😉

  1. Dear Jen,

My comment from then still stands. 😉 Thank you for sharing it again. It’s nice to have a respite and, at the same time, we have a whole new crop of FF’rs to whom this is all new material.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

  2. Damn it! I can’t figure out the “an” joke. But this is a great piece that hints at so much – time, opportunity, priorities, choices – all the stuff life is made of

    • I can’t help you, Neil; I don’t know what it is either. But we all have ‘in’ jokes with family and close friends. My feeling is that they, even without the explanations, make a story stronger.

Did Dad die of an aneurism? Otherwise I don’t get the joke either, but the characterization is great and the story is powerful.

  4. A sad tribute to her father. And it seems to her own choices. She’s repeating her father’s mistakes. A very engaging story.

Feedback feeds the muse. Join in the conversation here:
