Room With A View
We couldn’t afford a fancy honeymoon suite so opted for “Double room with views of Niagara Falls”. Which meant an infinity sight of the top river flowing into mist, with a heavy sideline in parking lot.
“Double” was a push too, for the bed where we huddled like hamsters, lest we fall into the “bedroom spa” – which looked a lot like a bathtub they hadn’t managed to fit into the bathroom.
We stayed three nights after the wedding, united in adversity and finding comfort in each other’s company. Perhaps it was the best kind of honeymoon suite after all.
The not so perfect, perfect honeymoon. Love it!
Why not – imperfections are part of the journey
For sure, things will ultimately go wrong its dealing with them together that makes a strong relationship.
Being together is all that matters. Nicely told
Let’s hope so!
A make or break honeymoon.
Indeed. I think make in this case but I guess I’d need to write another story to know for sure
Bedroom spa made me laugh. A honeymoon they won’t forget though, and that’s the main thing!
Absolutely! I’m glad you enjoyed the spa!
Perhaps it was just right for honeymooners! When I stayed at Niagara the bed was HUGE!
Huge beds should be reserved for those of us a few more years into the marriage!!!
This honeymoon augurs well for their future together. They discovered the essential. Lovely story.
Thanks, jenne! I agree it’s a happy story for them in a funny way
This bodes well for the marriage methinks!
I think so too – united by adversity!
They made the best of a not so ideal situation. Good for them.
Thanks! Sometimes it’s all you can do
Sounds like a honeymoon that will be memorable, with lots of stories and laughter later on. Good one!
The laughs come later, but maybe that’s why these things happen.
Alone in each others company, I don’t think it matters where you are does it?
Absolutely!
A low budget Niagara Falls honeymoon used to be quite the cliché, though I haven’t heard of it in ages. This was close to what I pictured 😉
It’s funny, when we moved to Toronto, it was the first time we heard that Niagara was the “honeymoon capital of the world”. Almost like some local tourism committee made it up!
I grew up in the Cleveland area but don’t live there any more, so that may be why it was such a big thing when I was kid. Cleveland isn’t quite as close as Toronto, but pretty close…
Well, sounds very honey-moony to me … 😉
🙂 Thank you!
Sounds real cozy to me and big enough… Cute story they will laugh about and share for years to come.
I think so, sometimes challenges make the best memories!
🙂
That’s how memories are made – sometimes, anyway. Sweet story!
Yes indeed. Thanks for stopping by!
Ha, the way they got through this is a good sign for their marriage. Whenever something goes wrong, they only need to remember.
Memories are so powerful, especially shared memories. Part of the glue, for sure.
Dear Jen,
Sounds like the kind of memories you look back on 50 years later and laugh. My husband and I have many of those. Very sweet story.
Shalom,
Rochelle
The best kind!
They’ll have a great story to tell for the rest of their lives 🙂
Absolutely. It’s the stuff of life, isn’t it?
Just think of all the people who will be in awe of their honeymoon story.
Hey, from lemons and all that … memories will be their reqrd for the horror of it all. Have a wonderful weekend,
Be Safe 😷 … Isadora 😎
ps – I went to Niagara Falls. Mesmerizing and grand …
The term compact and bijou came to mind while reading this! Nice one.
My story!
A saucy FF story – we don’t get many of those! Nice one, Elmo!
It was the perfect test of their relationship! If they could survive that without killing each other, the rest would be a walk in the park!
A little bit of adversity brings people together, if they are meant to be together of course. Nicely told.
